What equipment do I need?
A lot of the exercises require no equipment at all, but below are what I would recommend:
+ Dumbbells: having at least one pair of dumbbells between 5-8lbs to start would be great! Ideally, a few sets at different weights will be most effective. Specific weights are dependent upon individual fitness levels. We will routinely do Progressive Overload challenges, and to do that you will want a weight that is challenging and “heavy” but that you can perform the move with good form.
+Resistance Bands: The Besst Workouts 5-piece resistance band set is perfect for the workouts. They come with five bands of different resistance levels and they really help take your workouts up a notch. They are also perfect for taking on the go so you never have to miss a workout! If you would like this set, please reach out to me!
+ Yoga Mat: You could get by without one but I do think that it makes floor moves more comfortable on your spine, knees, etc! And then for stretching afterwards.
+ Foam roller. I highly recommend a foam roller. I’ll show you how to use it in the app but I could not live without my foam roller! It is crucial for recovery and massaging out lactic acid and sore muscles to help stay injury free.
+Bench (you can also use a sturdy chair instead if you have one at home!)
Again, don’t let it be a deterrent from starting if you don’t have these things yet. Tons of the moves can be performed without any equipment at all or just using your own bodyweight as resistance.
Do you provide exercise modifications?
Yes, the workouts will all have alternative, easier moves for moves that are more challenging or advanced. If you’re a beginner, I highly recommend starting with the 4-Week Foundational Program, which comes with the Weekly Workout membership. I recommend this especially if you are new to exercise or a more novice exerciser. This program will help you focus on correct form & technique, develop balance & strength so that you can ease into the Weekly Workouts in the most prepared way and minimize risk of injury.
There are also “Form Tips” videos which will demonstrate how to properly execute many of the moves you will be doing in the workouts, and then every move in the app has it’s own video demonstration.
What’s the cancellation/refund policy?
Besst Workouts App is a subscription app that will charge to your selected payment method, each billing cycle, on the same date you originally signed up. Your subscription will continue until you choose to cancel. If you choose to cancel, you will still have access to your account for the remainder of your billing cycle. Access to the Besst Workouts App will be revoked once your subscription has expired. By subscribing, you agree to subscription fees being billed automatically to the payment method provided by you, on the renewal date of your term. Due to the digital nature of the product, there are no refunds.
What are the cardio workouts?
The Besst Workouts App has cardio workouts in your schedule 2-3 times per week, but they are “choose your own”. I want you to take ownership of finding a cardiovascular activity you enjoy. It can be ANYTHING that gets you moving! Walking, Running, Spin Class, Hiking, Swimming, etc.
Similarly, if there are other exercise or studio classes you enjoy taking, then you could do those on the cardio days.
is the schedule flexible?
Yes, you can always move the workouts around to suit your schedule. I put them in your calendar on specific days, but feel free to jump around however you need. Workouts for the week are inputted at the latest by Sunday evening prior to the new week, but usually before then. So you will have plenty of time to check it out ahead of time and make a plan for your week!
What if I need help?
Members of the Besst Workouts App can message me directly anytime through the app. You can also email me if you’d rather do that!
